wordybirdies win on january 29th!

yes, wordybirdies have finally triumphed over the computer glitch - yippee! now we have that lovely serene feeling that comes from knowing things have been sorted out, and also that ever-present apprehension about when the next thing will happen! such is life in the digital age.

really looking forward to the week-end - we have a meeting today with a very very talented lady who makes the most incredible cakes and of course we are hoping that some of her clients will also become ours - a double whammy for those very special occasions...actually we really really want to see the cakes too!

speaking too soon!

ha ha - that will teach us! into every life some rain must fall and so it is with us as we try and grapple with the intricacies of the computer - we will prevail, though!

wordybirdies' website looking more fab than ever now - visit us at www.wordybirdies.co.uk and see what we mean.

wordybirdies become technoholics

yes it's true - we are gradually becoming fans of the computer - who ever believed this would happen? big thanks to Becky at Mintpepper for helping us with all of it but bit by bit we are getting good at the techno-stuff. As well, of course, as already being good at the poetry!

the Australian Open tennis has stopped for a fireworks display - this wouldn't happen at Wimbledon! - Andy Murray should maybe have played yesterday, on Burns Night!

let's hope he wins and gives us some grins!

Wow! the bard has struck!

wordybirdies say it's st dwynwen's day!

and so it is - today, 25th january is indeed st dwynwen's day - the patron saint of lovers (at least here in Wales) - time to make more of this marvellous occasion, we think, as well as Valentine's Day - two bites of the cherry within a month! That can't be bad, can it?

hope you have a romantic evening.

wordybirdies say enjoy Burns Night!

Yes, today is Burns Night, if you know what we mean. We did the kilt and haggis (and vegetarian option) on Saturday including someone who tried to translate the ode to the haggis - not very successfully, it has to be said.

Old Rabbie could pen a poem or two so wordybirdies are putting our Weekly Poem tribute to him on the website this evening...

wordybirdies' special poetry stars at the Mayor's event

what an amazing week it's been for the wordybirdies - culminating in our performance at the Mayor of Wrecsam's Charity Dinner Dance - we went down a storm, even though we say so ourselves!

enormous fun writing and performing the poems - and it made the Mayor very happy and it helped his fund-raising so everyone was happy!

now that the first performance has been done we're really looking forward to more - as well, of course, as writing our special poems to order for our online clients!

have a great week-end - we already are!

the weekly poem from wordybirdies for january 18th

Here it is - we've gone for brevity this week. Oh, and shameless advertising!

So now there are two poets from Wales
Who know what celebration entails
A poem just for you
That’s what they do
And send the verse out in e-mails!

Have a great week.

it will happen when it will happen!

the momentous thing, of course...have decided to learn patience today and take it as it comes.

in fact, am feeling rather poetic this morning, which is handy when you run a poetry business!

tomorrow it will be time for the wordybirdies Weekly Poem to appear once more so thinking caps on for the theme and then pens at the ready for the actual verses...

it's a white Wednesday out there...

...in North Wales anyway and, I imagine, everywhere else too. Still really appreciating the prettiness of it all but the inconvenience is driving me nuts. Why is everything grinding to a halt? Did it used to be like this? Is nostalgia really what it used to be?

These and other questions will...well, probably, never be answered!

Momentous announcement didn't happen yesterday but that could be down to the snow as well...maybe. It should be coming later today though, even with the snow.

Fingers are crossed - a lot!

big news coming later today

today is going to be a bit of a momentous day for wordybirdies, as there is very big news coming later...need to be tantalising for the next hour or two but after that it will be out!

nice to see something that we've worked hard for coming to fruition although in fact it is just the start of something.

the weather has become weird, by the way - drifts two feet deep on the mountain road above us, not because of anything falling from the sky but from the high wind blowing the snow off the hills onto the road...and the cars!

love the whiteness but please, please can we have a bit less of it for a day or two?

Monday morning musings from wordybirdies

So, another morning waking up to snow falling. The silence is very inspiring and very conducive to writing poetry although the sound of shovels outside scraping the snow off the path is a reminder that inconvenience is usually the thing we first notice when the snow comes down.

If you're struggling to get to work or school or your aged relatives, just take the odd moment to wonder at how different everything looks when it's blanketed in white.

Then, back to shovelling!!!

wordybirdies have taken flight! January 1st 2010

Well, it's true! wordybirdies.co.uk is now live - this is so exciting for us for we have spent three months getting the website content right and mintpepper webworks have spent the same amount of time getting all the tech and design stuff right.

Hope you love the result. We do!
